About me:

Hi, I’m Katie, a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

I qualified in 2012 and have been working in veterinary practice since 2008, gaining experience across first opinion, referral, and mobile services. Over that time, I’ve seen first-hand how much calmer animals are when they are cared for in their own environment, which is what led me to create my in-home veterinary nursing service.

My aim is to offer a more relaxed and personalised alternative to the traditional clinic visit. Many pets, particularly those who are nervous, older, or less mobile, can find travelling and waiting rooms stressful. By visiting you at home, I’m able to provide care in a familiar setting where your pet feels more at ease.

Throughout my career, I’ve developed a broad range of clinical experience, including ophthalmology, anaesthesia, inpatient care, and client support. I have also completed postgraduate certificates in anaesthesia and pain management, alongside further study at Master’s level, which supports my commitment to providing safe, evidence-based care.

My approach is calm, patient, and centred around each individual pet. I take the time to let animals settle and build trust before starting any treatment, helping to make the experience as stress-free as possible.

I offer a range of veterinary nursing services in the home, including nail clipping, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, and administration of medications that have already been prescribed by your vet. I’m also happy to support owners who may need guidance or reassurance when caring for their pets.

If at any point I feel your pet requires veterinary attention, I will always advise you accordingly.

As well as being a veterinary nurse, I’m also a mum of two and a pet owner myself, so I understand how important it is to feel confident in the person caring for your pet.

If you’re unsure whether I can help, feel free to get in touch for a chat. I’m always happy to talk things through and point you in the right direction.
